Our lungs have important function in oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange for cells in our body. Cigarettes are paper filled with chopped tobacco and formed in cylindrical shaped. In 1 stick of cigarette, 4800 of chemical products was found and 69 of them can cause cancer. Those chemical products can be dangerous for either active or passive cigarette smoker. Because of its dangerous chemical products, cigarette becomes the biggest risk factor and the most common cause of lung cancer. Imaging modalities are able to support the diagnosis of lung cancer. Therefore, to increase people’s awareness and knowledge about The Role of Radiology in Detecting Lung Cancer, Radiology Study Program of Diponegoro University’s Faculty of Medicine held this community service in the form of health promotion and leaflet distribution.
